Imposter privacy policy

Data collection

Imposter does not collect or send us player names, custom words, game results, usage information or device identifiers. The app has no accounts, advertising, tracking or third-party analytics. We do not receive gameplay data or share it with other organisations.

What stays on your device

The app saves your player names, round settings, appearance preference and custom word packs locally so they are available the next time you play. This information remains on your device until you change or delete it. Anyone using the app on that device can see saved player names and custom packs.

Importing word packs

When you import a pack, you choose a file using Apple's file picker. Imposter reads that selected file and stores its words and any hints in your local library. The app does not upload the file or browse your other files.

Deleting saved data and backups

You can edit or remove players and delete custom packs within the app. Deleting a pack removes it from the game's saved library, but does not delete the original file you imported. To remove all of the app's local saved data, delete the app and its data from your device. Offloading the app keeps its saved data.

Apple may include the app's saved data in device backups, depending on your settings. Backups and restored copies are managed through your Apple device or account settings. We cannot access or delete those backups.

If you contact support

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. We use that information to respond and resolve your query. Please avoid sending other players' personal information or private word packs.

For privacy questions or to request deletion of your support correspondence, email hello@connectdorset.co.uk. There is no Imposter account to close, and we do not hold a copy of your saved game.

This page is hosted by Connect Dorset. Visits to the website are covered by the Connect Dorset website privacy policy. Website services are separate from the Imposter app.

If the app's privacy practices change, this page and its update date will be revised.
